Affirmations for Finances:
Most People Suck at Handling Money!
Why do most of us suck with money?
For one, it isn’t really taught in schools – at least not in my experience. If you were extremely lucky, your high school gave a you brief overview of the stock market. Maybe they took an hour or two to show you what a budget was.
And that was it.
They didn’t give you years of dedicated training on how to invest properly in the stock market, how to buy cash flowing real estate, or how to use equity from one property to purchase another.
You might have been given algebra problems about speeding trains and rocket ships, but nothing about calculating interest on a 30 year fixed-rate mortgage.
For the vast majority of us, financial mastery just wasn’t emphasized to anywhere near the extent we needed. Why is that?
They had us for so many years. Was there not enough time?
Since we're on the topic of silly questions...
Why were TV nerds like Steve Urkel and Screech Powers really good at math, and all the cool kids like Eddie Winslow and Zack Morris bad at it?
What was that supposed to teach us?
Think back to when you were young, watching TV, all those years ago.
Did you want to be like the cool kids, with cool clothes and lots of friends, or like Urkel?
If you want more money, you’ve got to love it!
Affirmations for finances, if used everyday, can program you to love money. Everyone thinks they love money, but they don’t.
They love spending money. They might love giving money away. But those are only two aspects out of the multitude, and they aren’t very useful in terms of acquiring more.
To really love money, you’ve got to be fascinated with every aspect of it! Where it comes from. How to obtain it. How to protect it. How to make it grow!
Rich people LOVE money!
They love counting it, keeping track of it with spreadsheets, and earning interest on it. They love knowing how much money is going out of their lives each month, and how much is coming in.
They read books about money. They subscribe to newsletters and listen to pod-casts. They read articles about business trends and fluctuating economic conditions.
They move their money in and out of assets like pieces on a chessboard. Personal finance is a game to them, and they love playing!
Affirmations for Finances:
The key is to be interested in finance!
Don’t be like everyone else. Don’t just enjoy spending money. Program yourself to enjoy learning everything there is to know about personal finance!
If you want to be rich, you should be watching Youtube videos on how to be rich.
Learn to calculate your net worth, to budget, and to save. You should be reading books on how to grow your money by investing for the long term. You should be learning to identify profitable real estate investments.
It’s ok if you’re broke. Study now, and when the money does come, you’ll know what to do with it!
It’s all about learning and studying. Everyone knows this, but we don’t make time to do it.
Why not?
Why Do So Few People Study Finance?
“Accounting? Math? Numbers? Boring!”
That’s the “Zack Morris” attitude we adopted as kids, and we carry it into adulthood.
“Stocks? Bonds? Mortgage rates? Boring!”
All of us should be fascinated with every aspect of money.
Finance is the one subject that, if mastered, can free almost anyone from the pains of wage slavery.
But we don’t master it. We tell ourselves, “Some people are good at that complicated financial stuff… I’m not into it.”
We’re not into it, and we waste precious time studying everything except money.
We say we hate math, then we memorize the batting averages of our favorite baseball players. We don’t keep track of our net worth, but we know the current rushing average of our favorite NFL team’s running back.
Of all the various subjects a person could study in a lifetime, of all the hobbies a person could improve at, money mastery would enhance our lives the most.
It’s got the potential to free us from our 9 to 5 jobs, put our kids in the best schools, give our families the best health care, and give us the free time to develop our talents to their maximum potential.
Affirmations for Finances:
How to Fix It
You can tell yourself you’re going to start learning about money from now on, but that’s not good enough.
When it come to finance, most of us have been unknowingly hobbled by a lifetime of negative thoughts and feelings, and bad mental habits are hard to break.
All that negativity, much of which is unconscious, is constantly telling you not to read 20 books on real estate investing. It’s telling you not to be interested in personal finance.
You’ve got to obliterate those old thoughts!
Replace them with new ones conducive to getting rich, and repeat your new programming over and over until it permanently changes how you think and feel about finance!
Affirmations for Finances:
