Affirmations for Health:
The Secret to Always
Feeling GREAT!
Because the power of your mind to heal your body is incredible. That’s why all medical trials must account for the “placebo effect” before any new medicine is approved.
The What Effect?
The placebo effect!
In a nutshell, if a doctor hands you a pill, you’ve got a good chance of healing just by believing the pill will work. This is true even if it contains no medicine at all.
That’s how medical trials are conducted. Some patients are given real medicine. Others are secretly given a placebo (a sugar pill). People in both groups tend to heal.
New medicine is only considered useful if it works better than the placebo.
What does that tell us about our ability to heal ourselves using only the mind, even when we aren’t trying?
What if we did try?
Health is at an all time low in America.
Cancer, heart disease, and diabetes are all on the rise.
We’ve got depression, anxiety, and all sorts of neuroticisms. What the heck is going on?
A big part of the problem is that we’re eating too much, and the stuff we eat has a list of chemical ingredients straight out of a mad scientist’s laboratory: Monosodium glutamate. Sodium benzoate. Red 40. Blue 1.
I am a simple man, but I’m pretty sure our digestive systems didn’t evolve for millions of years in the wilderness to consume “Blue 1.”
The body needs exercise.
Once upon a time, we all hunted, chopped wood, and grew crops, and we did it everyday. We spent hours walking through the forest picking berries, mushrooms, and herbs. To get water, you went to the river.
Life itself consisted of exercise, and obesity was unheard of. What happened?
Technology is a wonderful thing, but it’s also made us soft! That’s a problem!
Bad Mental Training (Pass the yams!)
When we were kids, we were given a cookie if we behaved, and a cake if it was our birthday. Holidays called for pie, soda, candied yams, and all kinds of stuff that wasn’t good for us.
Family parties. Smiles. Happiness. Junk food.
I still love Thanksgiving dinner, but the mental association we now carry between unhealthy food and happiness is not good, and it must be broken!
(Note: If you’re already suffering from an illness or injury, please see affirmations for healing.)
Love what you hate, and hate what you love!
It’s gonna be hard to change your eating habits if you still think of salad, fruits, and water as “diet food.”
It’s gonna be hard to change your eating habits if you still think of pizza, fries, and cheeseburgers as “comfort food.”
You’ve got to flip the script of your own mind. Program yourself to seek out healthy meals on a daily basis, and reject garbage!
Remember: Natural, organic food. If it doesn’t come out of the ground, it ain’t natural.
I’ve never seen Oreo cookies and Doritos growing in the wild. Have you?
Working Out!
So many people think of “working out” as something only professional athletes do, or “meat heads,” or tik tok models.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
All of us need to work out – every single human being – and we need to do it everyday. You don’t have to get a gym membership. Just jog in place for 5 minutes. Stretch for 5 minutes. Take a walk in the park.
Whatever you’re capable of (and that may be limited due to health or time constraints), it’s fine. Just do it everyday. The habit will be established, and health benefits will accumulate.
The first step in all of this is to get your mind right!
Affirmations for Health: The Method
Read these affirmations to yourself over and over, for 5 minutes straight. Do it everyday in a quiet place where you won’t be distracted. Silence your phone.
5 minutes. Use a countdown timer, so you can stop worrying about how much time has elapsed, and just focus on the affirmations.
After about 2 minutes, you’ll notice a calm coming over you. That’s your brain relaxing into a more receptive state, and it’s good for you. Keep going!
How do you know when the affirmations for health are working?
You’ll know the affirmations are working when you’re shopping for groceries, and you suddenly feel disinclined to buy soda, ice cream, and other so-called “goodies.”
You’ll know the affirmations are working when you come home from work, and you’re tired, but before you turn on Netflix, you say to yourself, “I can do 5 minutes of exercise. 5 minutes is nothing.” And then you do it!
Eating just a few more vegetables adds up. Exercising for 5 minutes a day adds up. Reading affirmations adds up!
It takes time to break the mental habits you’ve carried since your youth, but it can be done.
All you have to do is repeat the correct thoughts so often, that the old ones fade away. Your new programming will come to you reflexively, whenever you need it, and your health will skyrocket.
Do the affirmations. Take control of your health.
Good luck!
