Affirmations Meaning:
The Easiest Method of Self-Improvement!
An affirmation is any phrase you repeat to yourself in order to permanently improve how you think, feel, and behave.
That’s the textbook definition; a little dry, I know!
Let’s dig deeper, though, so that we can fully understand what this means in practice, and how affirmations can significantly improve our lives.
Note: If you’d rather jump in and start using affirmations immediately, great! Just watch this video!

Affirmations Meaning:
Your brain is a super computer with MASSIVE storage capabilities!
When I was 11 years old, an adult told me: “Fill your head with crap, and crap is all you’ll get out of it!”
I was watching Beavis & Butthead at the time, so the meaning of his words wasn’t lost on me.
Eventually I learned the corollary to that statement, which is that if you fill your head with good things, good things will come out of it.
That’s the meaning of affirmations.
It’s a method of filling your mind with good things, so that good things come out of it.
What good things?
What if instead of seeking entertainment, we spent time deliberately filling our heads with the most positive, energetic thoughts possible?
What if instead of scrolling social media, we spent time reminding ourselves of our goals, and of all the steps necessary to reach those goals?
What if we told ourselves we could achieve anything, not once, but dozens of times, every day?
If we did this for a week, a month, or a year, our brains would literally change.
All of that repetition would put us in the habit of thinking a certain way, which would cause our behaviors to change and our lives to improve.
We’d feel better, think clearer, and get more accomplished. We’d cut through obstacles like a chainsaw through moldy cheese, and we’d feel great doing it.
The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is how they think. Affirmations are a way of directing your thoughts in such a way as to make success inevitable.
Your brain is a computer.
What programming are you giving it?
Affirmations Meaning:
Every day is an opportunity for self improvement!
The technique couldn’t be simpler.
Write a few positive statements on paper (or print out the ones available for free on this site). Read them for several minutes a day, everyday.
That’s it!
When you read affirmations enough, those thoughts becomes habitual and begin influencing your behavior. The possible applications of this technique are endless.
With affirmations, you can program yourself to exercise more, eat better, work harder, be less shy, heal a broken heart, stop procrastinating, or find new ways to make money.
It all depends on what you want to do. You’re limited only by your imagination and your ambition.
Now that we have a basic concept of what affirmations are, let me explain what they mean on a deeper level.
Affirmations Meaning:
Freedom from Psychological Tyranny!
Affirmations mean freedom from the negative thoughts imposed on you by your peers, your family, and by society. It means freedom from the excessive self-criticism we all suffer from.
Did you know?
Every time someone bullied, rejected, or neglected you… Every time you were called “dumb,” “fat,” “ugly,” or “stupid…”
Your subconscious mind remembers all of it.
Not only does it remember, but it uses that information to mold your self identity. How you think you fit in the world, what you think you’re capable of, and whether or not you think people love you, are all a consequence of your self identity!
Affirmations Meaning:
Self-fulfilling Prophecies
If someone labeled you “dumb” as a kid, part of you might have believed it.
By believing it, you would have felt less inclined to study, pay attention in class, and do your homework.
Those actions would cause your grades would drop. Your parents would freak out, and before you could say 5 + 5 = 10, you’d have been labeled a bad student!
And the self-fulfilling prophecy would be complete.
It doesn’t matter how smart you actually were. Your unconscious mind believed you were dumb, and you behaved accordingly.
The same thing happens if you’re labeled a “nerd,” or “fat,” or anything. When an insult hurts bad enough, it burns itself into your mind. You hear the insult once with your ears, but you repeat it hundreds of times in your mind until it becomes unconscious.
At that point, you don’t even think of the words anymore. You just feel them. You’re hobbled by them.
You want to make more friends and go on dates, but you feel “too shy” to go to parties. You’re incapable of trusting anyone.
You want to start a business, but you just don’t believe you can succeed.
Most of these feelings are unconsciously masked by seemingly reasonable excuses: “I’m too tired to go to the party.” “I don’t have time to start a business.”
Missed opportunities. Stagnation. Faulty programming.
Affirmations are a way of destroying that programming! They’re a way of escaping the prison of your mind, so that you’re free to become the person you want to be.
Affirmations Meaning:
Forgiveness
The ability to forgive is crucial for our psychological and spiritual health.
Reliving painful experiences in memory is one of the most destructive and counterproductive habits a person can develop, but we all do it.
If we could just forgive the people who hurt us, we could heal. If we could heal, it would be easier to forgive the people who hurt us. We know this intuitively.
Then why is it so difficult?
Any thought repeated often enough becomes a habit.
The more you think about how badly you were wronged, and how much of a jerk the other person was, the easier it becomes to think these things.
After a while, negative thoughts like these come reflexively and without warning, often when you’re already stressed about something totally unrelated.
This can go on for years! Bad mental habits are hard to break.
That’s why it’s hard to forgive. The affirmations in this video can help…
Affirmations for Forgiveness:
Heal Yourself in order to forgive!
It’s hard to forgive someone for the wounds they’ve inflicted, when your pain is still fresh. For those of us with good memories, the pain can stay fresh for many years – long after the offender forgets what they’ve even done!
We can heal ourselves through the power of repetition.
Whatever negative effect people have had on you, affirm the opposite!
If they damaged your self esteem, boost it up! If they made you feel dumb, program yourself to feel smart! If they made you feel ugly, program yourself to love how you look.
Once you’ve healed yourself, it becomes much easier to forgive, because your injuries will truly be in the past instead of at the forefront of your mind.
At that point, you can use affirmations to break the cycle of anger even further.
How?
By programming yourself to see the other person not as your enemy, or even a former enemy, but as a fellow human being: vulnerable, flawed, and desperately trying to survive in this world like everyone else.
Affirmations Meaning:
Power.
Affirmations are your way to power!
Over yourself. Over the quality and direction of your life. Over your goals.
What are your goals? Whatever they are, the right affirmations will help you achieve them.
Do you want to be rich?
Use affirmations to create an unwavering belief in your own intelligence, and in your love for learning, particularly about investment vehicles like stocks, bonds, and real estate.
Affirm your interest in entrepreneurship, creative finance, and in all other ways of making money.
Do that, and you’ll inevitably start behaving in ways that eventually result in financial prosperity.
Do you want more friends?
Affirm the belief that you deserve friends, that you’re fun to be around, and that you enjoy being around other people. Program yourself to possess the qualities and attitudes that naturally attract people into your life.
Your social circle will grow as a result.
Do you want to lose weight?
Affirm the belief that you love working out, that you eat right, and that you enjoy eating smaller, healthier portions.
No matter what the goal, affirmations will give you the power to achieve them.

Affirmations Meaning:
Unlocking Humanity’s Potential!
Imagine if everyone in the world began each day with positive affirmations.
Imagine if every psychologically wounded person successfully healed themselves, and forgave their enemies.
What would that world look like?
We’d kill each other a lot less, that’s for sure. People who feel safe – who feel strong within themselves – don’t feel the need to smite their enemies.
Resources would be shared more often, not in a creepy, communist dictatorship kind of way, but in a voluntary way that reflects genuine concern for one another.
We’d all be less insecure, less neurotic, and less accusatory. The mental illness sweeping the world right now would finally start to recede.
If all of this happened, maybe UFO’s might finally land, instead of whizzing by with the doors locked and windows rolled up, like yuppies passing through a bad neighborhood.
Everything in it’s time.
Good luck.
